William P. Whitmore spent his youth in Taiwan and Thailand as a dependent of State Department personnel. The opportunity allowed him to travel extensively through Europe and Asia.
Whitmore served in a US Army special weapons unit in West Germany during the Cold War. After leaving the military, he pursued a career in law enforcement, training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia. The author earned his black belt in martial arts with Tompkins Karate Association (TKA) and taught Tang Soo Do and Jiu Jitsu in the Washington, DC area for over fifteen years.
William worked briefly at CIA headquarters in Northern Virginia before shifting gears to define business requirements at an independent government agency. Including military time, his career in public service spanned over thirty years.
William's interest in history led him to try his hand at writing a medieval fantasy novel. When not writing, Whitmore enjoys spending time with his children and growing flock of grandchildren.
